Method and sources
This is not a local authority search. It gathers open government data for one point.

How it works
The checker turns a postcode into its centre point and asks the national planning data what covers that point, then looks for listed buildings in a square of about 100 m. Coverage: 10,705 conservation areas.
Limits
England only. A postcode covers several homes and a boundary can run between them. Councils publish to the national data at different speeds, so a recent designation may be missing: ask the council to confirm.
Artificial intelligence
AI helped draft the plain-English explanations from the legislation cited. It adds no facts about a property.
